Buon Appetito Restaurant
About
When Antonino Mastellone and the Caniglia siblingsāDaniela and Salvatoreāpooled their 60-plus years of combined restaurant experience to open Buon Appetito in June 2003, Little Italy was just one lonely block of lunch spots. They bet on a neighborhood that didn't yet exist, bringing what they learned in the "University of Mama's Kitchen" to a sleepy corner with cranes in the sky and condos rising. The gamble paid off spectacularly. Today this intimate trattoria anchors Little Italy's dining scene with wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas rolled fresh daily, and bread baked in-houseāall guided by cherished family recipes. The extended outdoor patio, warmed by heaters and filled with joyful conversation, connects directly to Sogno Di Vino next door, the wine bar they opened in 2005 as Little Italy's very first. With 200+ wines from Salvo's personal cellar and generous plates that turn meals into memories, Buon Appetito proves the best restaurants aren't just about foodāthey're about vision, timing, and family.
