Mr. Moto Pizza - Point Loma
About
After conquering Pacific Beach in 2015 and North Park in early 2017, Gibran Fernandez brought his award-winning Mr. Moto Pizza to Point Loma in summer 2018, embedding the third location into the new Bellamar mixed-use complex on Rosecrans Street. The "Best Gourmet Pizza in San Diego" crown from Liberty Station's 2016 Gourmet Pizza Fest followed him here, along with his signature 24-hour fermented dough that creates NY-style pies with puffy, airy borders and crispy bottoms. A 10-foot pizza display case greets customers, showcasing slices ready to grab or whole pies waiting to be fired. The cozy outdoor patioācomplete with brick frontage and a living wallāsits minutes from Shoreline Park, making it the neighborhood's go-to for lunch breaks and family dinners. His famous stuffed garlic knots (mozzarella-filled breadsticks he never imagined would become iconic) disappear fast, while specialty pies like the Furious Diablo and monthly rotating pizza keep regulars curious. Point Loma got what Pacific Beach and North Park already knew: Gibran nailed the New York soul.
