Emily Green left teaching to honor her late sister Kate, opening Sisters Pizza in 2019 to carry forward Kate's passion for pizza, family, and community. The New Jersey native brings authentic East Coast pizza to Hillcrest with brick oven-fired thin crust pies and creative names like Uncle Jesse and Chickie Chickie Parm Parm. San Diego Reader crowned it the city's best pizza in 2023. Fried artichokes, buffalo cauliflower, and fresh zeppolis pair with craft beer on the expansive dog-friendly patio. The #kindnessforkate movement promotes community giving, with monthly charitable donations continuing Kate's legacy of kindness and civic responsibility.
