Pizzeria Luigi
About
Luigi Agostini grew up north of Milano in Varese, Italy, before making his way to San Francisco and eventually San Diego, where he opened Pizzeria Luigi's doors in Golden Hill in 2004. Guy Fieri showed up in 2008 for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, recognizing what locals already knew: this was award-winning New York-style pizza at the top of San Diego's game. The North Park location followed in 2009, bringing that same counter-service magic—thin pies slinging from an open kitchen, sidewalk seating filled with regulars, and the kind of Italian-meets-New York authenticity you can't fake. Luigi brought his Milano upbringing and applied it to NY-style pizza, creating something that honors both traditions while belonging entirely to San Diego's ever-evolving pizza landscape.
