Prince Street Pizza
About
When Lawrence Longo brought Prince Street Pizza's legendary Sicilian squares to San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter in January 2023, he was carrying a legacy that began with Frank and Dominic Morano's 2012 takeover of Ray's Pizza space in New York's Little Italy. The family's generations-old Sicilian recipesâthick, crispy-bottomed, fluffy-centered squares topped with handcrafted sauces made fresh dailyâquickly earned a reputation that rivals New York icons like Joe's and John's of Bleecker Street. San Diego's two locations (Gaslamp and Pacific Beach) operate grab-and-go style with limited outdoor standing space, but customers claim it's the best pizza in California. The Spicy Springâloaded pepperoni drizzled with hot honeyâsells for $7 and captures everything that made Prince Street a multi-state empire.
