Sauced Pizzeria
About
During her morning run in 2020, Christina Cunningham decided to open a restaurant bringing families together over Italian food. She recruited her nephew, Chef Chad Fields, who'd worked restaurant kitchens since age 15. In December 2021, they took over legendary Marino's Italian Restaurant after nearly 70 years, transforming it into Sauced Pizzeria. The wood-fired oven and two-day cold-fermented dough create crispy, airy thin-crust pizzas earning recognition as Pacific Beach's best. The charming outdoor patio hosts Friday night live piano music, while kids eat free Sundays and summer culinary camps keep the family atmosphere alive. Happy hour from 3 to 6 PM features $7 cocktails and $6 wine. Community involvement through local schools and churches makes this a true neighborhood gathering place.
